Recital, I'm sure, is a stable database and used widely due to it being in a particular market for many, many years. Lianja is new, still in Beta I believe? WinDev has been around as a database AND integrated development environment for 20+ years and is used around the world by tens of thousands of developers.

I think Lianja might be an option for those developers who want to keep their investment in VFP code. I am not one of them. I am very happy with our VFP applications and what they currently can do. They still look modern and slick and work on all platforms that our business targets (32/64 bit Windows). But for moving into the future we want to jump onto a proven (i.e. long track record) IDE platform which allows projects to be developed 3 to 5 times faster than what we have historically done in VFP, multi-platform, not MS dependent (Linux, iOS, Windows), rich and complete toolset, rich interface control set, powerful integrated database plus 3rd party database access, extensive help documentation and a decent developer eco-system. The WinDev suite of tools fits that bill for us. Each to their own.
