Rob,
Why don't you run a daemon process that listens for connections and runs commmands passed by clients. There's a great remote shell daemon at
http://ftp.digital.com/pub/micro/pc/winsite/winnt/netutil/
called RSHD10.Zip, it even contains the C source code.
