>>Beer made in the United States? What is that? Chemicals, contaminated water, and extra large bubbles! Have some commercials on television and pass the swirl off as “Beer”. Americans cannot spell beer! They do not know what good beer is.

>There is a TON of really great beer made in the US, if you ignore the "top selling" beers. Craft and micro brews are where it's at. Complaining about American beer is kind of like complaining that no one makes really good music anymore but you've only ever listed to a top 40 station.
What I said about retail behaving like RIAA - they stand in between and decide what goes through. Whenever I complained about something missing in the US, the answer was "you can find that if you look for it". Yeah, right, drive a hundred miles to get the best stuff for a lunch (which we more or less did, having a mental map of where to buy what), then another hundred to find proper bread, beer etc etc... not the kind of life I prefer. If it's not in any of the ten groceries in the area that we picked up as decent, I'm declaring it nonexistent from my POV.
I believe that good beer is made, but when I wanted to buy it, it wasn't sold where I could find it.
