May I kindly suggest that automating Excel by itself is a problem. *g*

I prefer limiting automation to those tasks that can't be done differently, such as conversion or adding charts. The initial creation and formatting is faster and easier done by creating an XML file. I've written an article on this subject: http://foxpert.com/docs/excel.en.htm
