Often times the best solution is not readily visible to the person asking the question and they ask about their "work around". Other times they don't do a good job of formulating the right question. Happens more often for non-native English speakers, but even those of us who speak English natively often have issues. Sometimes as part of answering the question we have to ask more questions to make sure we understand.

I wasn't going to post in here due to the negativity that has been going on in this thread, but I decided it was ok to post a response to your message above. I agree with you. Sometimes a developer has a tight deadline or has been working on coding a business necessity intensively for hours and develops blinders. In those moments you are focused and trying to accomplish a requirement and sometimes cannot see the forest through the trees. You get stuck and post a question for help. Then, others may see what you are overlooking as a possible alternative - and you end up slapping your head in amazement that you overlooked the obvious. Usually every response is appreciated. You may have considered the alternative before you posted and you may not have. On another less stressful day you may have considered all options, but it happens to almost everyone at some time or other that you "miss" some alternatives to accomplish what you need. In those moments, the forum is extremely beneficial.
