>>>I completely agree with Mr. Carville.

>>>I also agree with Valerie Jarrett

>>>As such, the administration has essentially given the middle finger to the House Republicans. In turn I fully expect them to give it right back.
>>>
>>>Thus my prediction:
>>>
>>>Zero major legislation will be passed for the remainder of Obama's presidency and he is now officially a lame duck.
>>>
>>>To quantify my prediction:
>>>No immigration deal
>>>No tax reform
>>>No Health care repeal
>>>No student loan foregiveness
>>>No gun control
>>>
>>>You get the idea.
>>>
>>>I love gridlock (stops "them" from taking from "us") so am actively hoping for no change. ;)

>>Its strange how the co-operative nature of the house republicans could be repaid like this .I'm baffled.

>They are not cooperative in the least. They are warriors. They think they were sent to Washington to defeat the other side rather than get anything done.

>Our political system sucks at the moment, both sides guilty. My favorite politician ever was Olympia Snowe, a Republican, who was killed from within her own party. My father knew her and contributed to her campaigns. She declined to run for reelection, a slam dunk, because she didn't recognize her party any more. She said as much in her goodbye speech. When politicians like Olympia Snowe are driven out of the political process there is a problem.

It's not surprising and I don't blame them. We're split so far apart ideologically that there is no middle ground. I would not compromise at all on any of the hot topic issues except maybe immigration and/or gay marriage. However, I wouldn't even want to recognize those issues until our financial and economic situations are dealt with. Unfortunately the left doesn't feel the same way.
