>>>Its strange how the co-operative nature of the house republicans could be repaid like this .I'm baffled.

>>They are not cooperative in the least. They are warriors. They think they were sent to Washington to defeat the other side rather than get anything done.

>>Our political system sucks at the moment, both sides guilty. My favorite politician ever was Olympia Snowe, a Republican, who was killed from within her own party. My father knew her and contributed to her campaigns. She declined to run for reelection, a slam dunk, because she didn't recognize her party any more. She said as much in her goodbye speech. When politicians like Olympia Snowe are driven out of the political process there is a problem.

There used to be the left side of the Republican party. We were called (funnily enough) Liberal Republicans. We're all for social things, as long as you show us how you're going to pay for it - among other things.

Now, we're called 'RINO'

And that's the biggest problem within the Repubs now. If you're not in lockstep on absofreakin'lutely everything then you're called names and when you try to explain your position the party sticks its collective fingers into its ears and starts screaming 'RINO!RINO!RINO!RINO!' until you go away. And when you finally DO give up and walk away they think they're justified in their opinion.

Sounds much like kids on the playground, doesn't it.
