They are amazing. By all normal rules they should be too old and done. But they keep doing it. They have established themselves as one of the classic NBA franchises and we should all appreciate them.

Charles Himself said that on a TNT broadcast. He said the Spurs are the best run franchise in pro sports. And Charles does not toss around compliments lightly. For a guy who was a consummate pro -- and is again as a broadcaster -- it means something coming from him. Even Shaq treats him with respect.

I remember a conversation on the CompuServe FoxForum when Tim Duncan was still in college. He had a poor game in the tournament. I asked Bill Skeels, who was a FF regular and played some college ball himself, He's better than that, isn't he? Bill replied yeah, he is. And Bill was right. Duncan has slow eyed his way to the hall of fame.
