Peter,
Just use ??? to output everything. The printer drivers and Windows will stay out of the way.
>I need to print a large number of statements on an old dot martix printer (ALPS). Its fairly fast but unsophisticated. I want to print at 17 cps using the printer's own font. How can I send output to the printer without FoxPro or Windows messing with the printer settings of changing my iine length?

>For instance even after I set the memowidth to 140, if I print to a "generic" printer the print lines are still broken at 85 characters (even though the printer is set to 17 cps.) If I send a test ASCII file directly to rhe printer from DOS (TYPE PRINTEST.TXT >PRN), it prints fine. (Up to 136 characters per line.) I haven't found a way to get this same effect from within FoxPro.

>My goal is to format my statements to a character string in a memo field, one statement per record in a file called BILLS. Then I can scan through the file, printing directly to the printer with no spooler and marking each record printed as it prints. I would like the program to stop if the printer hangs.
