One of the interesting things is the fact that this surfaced right before Obama could use chinese hacking practices there - and the whisteblower did not elect to stay inside the US but is currently in Hong Kong. Renmimbi probably easier to convert over there - british law might have helped Assange, but that should not factor in Hong Kong nowadays.
