>I'm usually a late adopter, but it took me about 5 seconds to figure out that the mouse was a huge improvement over keyboard navigation. Not so with touch.
>I love touch on my Kindle reader but find it annoying on my phone. I carry it in my pocket and the rubbing makes it think I'm doing something with it.
>Regarding the desktop, the main issue I see with touch is that for people with short arms, being that close to the screen could make reading difficult. My arms are pretty long, but I'm usually a lot more than an arm's length away from the screen with my reading glasses on.

Handling maps or similar tasks I prefer touch. Mapping software internals to a desktop, directory of links or meno options is optimised for mouse - but perhaps better mappings can be found for touch. With you 100% that touching large screens is no option for longer tasks.
