I use a form with two grids and a filter on the child grid cursor. Primary cursor on left and child cursor on the right. Clicking on a row on left sets the filter in the grid on the right with a refresh(). I find this very easy to build and maintain plus you can easily put whatever fields you need and the customer can edit as needed.
Yes, there is a rule about using filters in grids but with the power of the modern PC and cursors I have never had any performance issues.
