>So the question would arise, how do you obey God, in order to do that you must know what
>God wants you obey. How do we obtain this information?

First, it's not an alone walk. No man does this on his own. It is exactly the opposite. God Himself leads each man to his calling, to faith, to repentance, to obedience, to the degree to which He will God pours out conviction unto the man. And it is God who guides continually, His Holy Spirit moves men at key points in their lives, as a river's current goes to and fro, God guides those who will believe.

It is a miracle of course that God does this, knows the believer before he believes, sets his life in motion before he believes, is patient and forgiving and loving and all other asset qualities before he believes. But it is because of His nature. God is eternal and He sees across time bringing each man who will receive His Son to the point in his Earthly life where he will receive Him.

Such speaks to the awesome power of God.

And once the believer is there, it is and has been God all along who has maintained the church in its varying degrees, who has made sure that even if a true believer finds himself sitting in a church with false doctrines, that God's Grace is there to cover that believer's sin when pursued with a true heart, or more likely that His Holy Spirit prevents the individual from believing the doctrine in the first place, and instead places within his heart a desire to have a proper relationship with God that's in line with the level of understanding of God's will through scripture that God pours out unto the individual. "To whom much is given, much is required."

God really is in control. Each man is being tested. The extent to which the man will obey God no matter the peculiar circumstances surrounding him determines, through trials and tribulations, the extents of his faith. We are being refined as in a furnace, being made of a special godly purity, and all for God's eternal purposes. The extent to which each man will pursue God sets the course for his life here on this Earth, as well as in eternity.
