>My customer is sending me this string '95.00X32.00X45.00', the numbers representing length, width and height in CM'S, from which I am to calculate the volume. I'm sure if I spent a few days I could come with an algorithm to parse this out in order to do the calculation, but has anyone done this already?

1) strtran() will do the job, chrtran() would be my personal preference

2) writing cm in uppercase and with a 'S threw me off completely. My first thought was "who the hell is this C. M. guy, and, ahem, dimensions in his what?". My second thought was that CM was something related to an audio control OCX (and related to thread title).
