The universe was spoken into existence, and what we have today is the result. But it wasn't evolution. It was God's plan.

The enemy tries to teach us this. The enemy does this because he is evil. He is a spirit, and ideas we have which run contrary to God flow from him into our ears through sin. Sin is the enabling vehicle which allows us to hear his lies and believe them. But God's Son, Jesus Christ, is Truth, and He is Spirit, and He is Life, and He has come to save us from those lies, save us from sin, save us from death.

All of creation declares the glory of God, Walter. Everything. Pick a direction, a topic, a concept, a construct, anything ... dig into it and you'll find God's glory.

If you'd like to know God for yourself ... just ask Him. There are no paths through other men to God. It is 1:1 Him to you, you to Him. Do it when you're alone. In silence. No one around. At peace. Seeking the truth. Just you, your thoughts, and the search for the truth.

God has a personal interest in every one of us. He cares for us deeply. He calls to us continually. And His glory is all around us. Sin blinds us to all of it. But God is a miracle maker. He restores that which was lost. "Behold, I make all things new," said God. That was His plan from the beginning. And in our trials and troubles upon this Earth right now, we are being tested. We are being given choices to see how strongly we'll follow that pursuit of God, that pursuit of Truth. And believers must be faithful unto death.

As for who can be a believer? None who come to Him are turned away. Ever. No matter the past. No matter even the current circumstances. God receives all when they come to Him truly seeking Him from their heart (from that true desire to know the truth).
