I think this was the whole fallacy of Darwin's research, that he assumed the human cell to be a very simple object with little information, which could have easily been evolved from small little changes over a long period of time. But since then we learned so much about biology which would have been unimaginable for the scientist in the old days. The problem is that scientists build this wall between science and religion that they are not willing to take the information and form the correct conclusions. It's not a matter of faith or no faith, because either way, whatever you believe, you do believe something. Of course most people are content with the basics and do not want to do a lot of research on their own, so they prefer to adapt to the mainstream, which seems to be more comfortable for them.
