Last month the ftp brok the 2Gb limit, I packed the file and it was reduced to 80Mb, i thought that perhaps it was a bit of a one off as the file has been used for 2-3 years recording lots of data. However this weekend I got the same error again, from 80mb to 2gb in about amonth. I had a backup and packed that, siz about 81 mb. I've checked and I can't see where I might be adding in lots of blanks etc. anyone any ideas where I might find the solution?

Every time you change a memo field, a new record is created in the FTP. The old memo field is NOT reused. In other words, try to avoid using memo fields for continuously changing data.
