>>>Yes, that is true, I try to filter out those parts that seem to be rather insulting, I think that perhaps he does not mean it on a personal level.

>>> If at all someone should be called evil it's not those that organize the Southwest Fox event, but rather those multi billion dollar organizations that produce their products with cheap labor in eastern countries under inhuman circumstances, then ship that stuff back to the western countries, sell it with a large profit margin, and then transfer those profits outside of their country to evade tax payments. Most of us strive to do a decent living and help where we can or where we are asked.

>>I once tried to google "church condemns corporation" and got about zero hits. Rick is no exception. When they rant against sin, it's always about their members' private lives, or not giving enough money to church (at least from how they depict their habits in the media), never a word against corporations, banksters et al.

>>What Rick delivers here (what he did in that month or two while I tried to reason with him) is deliberately applicable to anyone who disagrees, so if you take it at face value, it is personal. If you try to take it seriously, than it's insulting on many more levels.

I would not compare Rick’s offerings as related to mathematics. Mathematics has proof but the Bible requires faith. Now there are some mathematics students who use his/her faith to solve problems but it is imperative to understand the reality of math.

The reality of the Bible is that you can interpret it as you wish if you are a Protestant, according to God, for God has given you the ability to do so. That is the belief of Protestants. That is why there are over 33,000 different Protestant religious groups. Not everyone agrees on the meaning of the Bible. People tend to give the Bible the meaning they want to serve themselves.

How many people agree that 2 plus 2 to the base 10 is equal to 4? Only those that are socially acceptable!

I think that Rick wishes to convert everyone he comes in contact with, to his belief or interpretation of the Bible. Just imagine the joy of having everyone do this to each other? Not much time would be spent in accomplishing daily tasks. People would argue that his/her belief is the truth and that all others are false. Why this could be a reason for nations to go to war!

I was raised a Roman Catholic and practice my religion. I have never tried to convert anyone. My best friend (since I was 8 years old) is Jewish. Studying religions of the world in college and on my own has been a true joy. It is nice to understand others but do not push your belief system upon anyone.

I like to discuss religion and politics but to be honest I think there is a time and place for all things and “this ain’t the place”. :)
