>I remember getting the same message when I first started using HTML Help Workshop - I had about 120MB free on C and the file I was compiling was pretty small. I moved it to my F: drive with 3GB free and don't remember seeing the problem after that. Have you tried putting it on your local drive ?

I've been fooling around with the new HTML help and got that error message also. I created some heading and page entries in the table of contents (.hhc) and then it compiled okay. It had nothing apparently to do with my disk space. I haven't converted a file, but maybe the table of contents portion is having a problem.
