I did not read the responses to this - so perhaps you already found what you were looking for......
I found that WinSCP seems to work the best. For one it works with a sFTP running on an AS/400 - which I find a lot of FTP clients don't work for whatever reason. The other cool thing about it is that it has it's own built in scripting language - which I've used in conjunction with VFP to automate FTP send/receive. I went though a big mess for a week or two trying to find an FTP client or activex that met all these requirements - this one fit the bill perfectly.
