>>>To enter the Kingdom of Heaven you must come as a little child.

>>That passage means men must come to Jesus in the same way little children believe what you tell them -- they just accept it on faith.

>Without getting into a religious discussion - don't you think it's a tad unwise and irresponsible in general for an adult to just accept things (anything) on faith? I think if we lived in a world where adults simply believed things the same way little children do our entire society would be hugely troubled.

I am the last person here who should be speaking as a theologian but I have always liked the concept of faith. Specifically Catholic faith, although I know it exists in other religions. My ex-wife was (is) Catholic and our daughters were raised Catholic, so I have spent a fair amount of time in Caholic churches. Although I am not a believer, I find faith beautiful -- to believe in something you can't see or prove. One of the key lines in a Catholic mass is "Let us celebrate the mystery of faith." That grabs me every time.

My problem with Rick is, I believe, the same as others here have -- that he thinks he has the one right answer and tries to force it on others. But I do not question or belittle his faith. If it gives him strength and purpose, then good for him. I am agnostic, not atheist, and generally envy those who do have faith. I have seen it comfort many people and help them through troubled times. So carry on, Rick. Just maybe a little more quietly ;-)
