Our next meeting will be on Thursday November 19th.

Our guest speaker will be John Petersen. John will discuss ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) and how they can be used with Visual FoxPro. ADO features high speed, ease of use, low memory overhead, and a small disk footprint.

You will learn how to use a powerful tool that can be used not only to
access data in VFP, but in Visual Basic, Visual InterDev, Visual J++, and Office as well. In addition to covering the ADO Object Model in detail, John will present several practical examples of how ADO can be
incorporated into your VFP applications. Special emphasis will be placed on combining a new VFP capability - the creation of Active Documents - with ADO.

John is Vice President and partner of IDT Marketing Systems and Services, Inc., a Philadelphia marketing database consulting firm. In addition to providing database design and modeling-consulting services, John's firm specializes in the creation of data marts, data-hygiene and query tools, and Internet-based marketing applications using Visual FoxPro, Visual Basic, Visual InterDev, SQL Server and MS Office.
