>>>>>Yeah whatever dude. It's not the first time you've pulled the cop out with me when the discussion got difficult. The plain simple truth here is that you're stance towards gays and lesbians is discriminatory and bigoted. You can attempt to justify it with our religion all you want but that doesn't change the facts does it? If you don't want to admit then fine. If you think such behavior is acceptable in this day & age then you got a problem.
>>>
>>>Wow!
>>>I haven't used the terms "discriminatory and bigoted" since the late 50's when people were shooting and hanging people because of their skin color.
>>>Saying that someone is "discriminatory and bigoted" because of a religious belief is quite a leap, isn't it?
>>>
>>>What belief or preference is NOT "discriminatory and bigoted?"
>>>I happen to have a weakness for tall, beautiful, sexy, slender, white, brunettes who have a good sense of humor.
>>>In fact I met one of them when I was 16 and I'm still married to and crazy about her.
>>>
>>>Sorry, all you short blondes out there, but I'm a discriminating bigot and love it.
>>
>>Yeah but your're not saying that short blonds are an abomination and don't deserve the same rights as everyone just because they're short and blonde are you? Hardly the same thing.

>Wait for Jos's regular dose of relativization. You'll see that these only seem different, but are substantially the same. They seem different to you because that's how they look in your view of the world.

I've come to the conclusion that the world view difference is that I'm the one looking with my eyes actually open...ha. There is an old saying that says "put yourself in the other guys shoes" which is something I've always tried to think of since I was a little kid (I was raised that way) - and I think that is kind of what he was saying - which is good advice.consider in most cases. As matter of fact that's probably why I got into the discussion to begin with. Put your self in a gay or lesbian's shoes. You're minding your own business, hurting no one, raising a family just like everyone else - but then someone with Rick's "worldview" says you're not worthy to be an equal member of society. So if you were that gay or lesbian person, how would you feel about that? Would you want to feel that way? If not then you shouldn't be doing that to someone else. To me it's another baffling hypocrisy of claiming religion for the stance. What happened to the "golden rule"? "Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself?" So what does this rule only apply if the other person is just like you? I'm sure Rick would say that if was gay he would want some biblethumper to come beat his door down and convert him to a straight person - but of course that would be a stupid as the rest of this as that's not really putting yourself in someone elses shoes.
