>>>>>>I just think media circuses bring out the clowns.

>>>>>Yes and it's freakin annoying too. Can't even turn on my TV - thankfully since I live where I do my TV intake time is small - but like I give a crap about what the witness's sister's aunt's friend who walked a dog that used to be owned by her friend's uncle that bought a used car from this guy over here who's connected to the case this way thinks about blah blah blah OMG shut the hell up already!

>>>It was a huge news story so of course they were all covering it. The choice to garden instead is of course yours but you can't complain about the coverage.
>>
>>This "trial" is not news. Arrests are news, decisions of trials are news, the pre-trial pontification and day-to-day recap with "opinion" from all around serves nothing more then to agitate and press people into side-taking so they will keep their eyes on the "show" rather than actual news. How can justice be blind when 24-7 images demanding how we're to think are broadcast. This particular case is a trumped up distraction to keep the politically blinded rallying to their side while ignoring the vastly more important. Namely the destruction of their country, liberty and privacy in the face of the greatest State intrusion into people's lives in the long sordid history of tyrannical government. One can tell how important the violation is by the reaction of the politicians. Namely, the current crop who can't agree on ANYTHING including the most mundane farm bill, came forward after the NSA revelations and effectively told us to "calm down".
>>
>>The fact that we ARE so calm in the face of epic rights violation while SO angry at a verdict in a single no-brainer case is appropriately telling.
>
>No-brainer case? I am losing a little respect for you here, and I have always respected you.

According to the evidence, yes, it's a no-brainer. It's such a no-brainer that the prosecution tried to throw a hail mary (3rd degree) conviction at the last minute into the mix because they knew they were lost. The fact that that happened and that the nutty judge actually considered it brought this carnival act to the brink of banana republic show-trial staus. Of course the Feds may still make it go banana. Cue Belafonte.

Now, if one wants to examine the root cause, as opposed to promoting their Cause, then things warrant a bit of self-examination.

Here's a rare bit in this nearly foregone culture.
