Yes, strange - I did a very quick Bing search and according to http://www.ehow.com/how_8211652_open-up-new-tab-html.html it should open a new Tab. I am using IE 10 and AFAIK I haven't changed default settings in regards to that.

Anyway, this is not a big deal.
