technically speaking you are hundred percent correct.
But I still donot prefer to make use of public variables, one day it will show, especialy with inherreted applications from meanwhile not to be adressed programmer, you will end up with an error.
To refrain from public variables is just a matter of programming.
Like formsets, mDot, local declarations, CamelCase a.s.o. Public's are a showstopper for me.
