When I was a teenager I carried one of those things because the guys on the other side were shooting at me and if didn't shoot back, I'd be in deep doo-doo either from the bad guys or a nasty set of officers in a court martial.
In fact I dodged as much ammo fired by my drunken sidekicks as I did from the bad guys.
So I learned how to use it, forgot everything about it as soon as I could and haven't picked one up since.
Why anyone would want to even hold one of those things voluntarily is beyond me.
If I were one of those teachers I'd find myself another school system.

>Finally some common sense.

>Train and arm the teachers and staff who volunteer for the program.
>Conceal the weapons and the individual names of the participants.
>Make a big news splash about what you are doing.

>Dougan is among more than 20 teachers, administrators and other school employees in this town who will carry concealed weapons throughout the school day, making use of a little-known Arkansas law that allows licensed, armed security guards on campus. After undergoing 53 hours of training, Dougan and other teachers at the school will be considered guards.
