>Agree. This is the kind of dumbing down of America that is occurring especially in the backwaters. Even if you look at TV in the U.S., you'll see cripe like "Hillbilly Handfishing" and "Duck Dynasty" celebrating the dumb hillbillies and their gun culture everyplace. (and the one good educational channel without all the moronic commercials - PBS - the Republican clowns want to do away with!!)

Given the historical fact that schools across this country regularly had teachers and students bringing their guns to school and the percentage of incidents was far fewer and the number with more than 2 victims was negligible, one could argue that the removal of guns is "dumbing down". Of course, that would require critical thinking and a knowledge of historical fact which are lost to the dustbin of politically correct historical whitewashing.

See gun clubs in US as recently as the 1970s.
