yes that is a good place to start. If you have the connection setup in the ODBC Data Source Administrator you can click "test connection" and see if that works. Also WHERE you put that could be a problem. If you put it in the USER DSN as opposed to the SYSTEM DSN that could cause a problem if you have different users trying to use it.
