>>>>>>>The building I live in has got rid of our free satellite dish because they removed it to install solar panels. Kinda sucks because I don't have cable either & I'm too cheap to spend the $ on it. I do have a digital TV tuner with an antenna, so I can still get a few local channels. My gripe is that now I have no CNN, Comedy Central, MSNBC, ESPN, etc etc etc. I know there are a zillion "internet TV" apps - all of which are of course junk. So my question is does anyone have any ideas on how to get live streams for USA cable channels? So far the only thing I've some up with is to try to talk someone into setting up a PC and TV tuner to install www.orb.com on it for me...hahaha

>>>I using ClearWire for my internet connection & I let my neighbor connect to it too, so it's only costing me $20 a month. The only option I have for cable TV is to use Oceanic and the cheapest thing they got http://www.oceanic.com/products/television/basic_cable/pricing is like $63 bucks plus a pile of taxes and fees besides the ones shown on that page yer bill ends up at like $90+ a month! uhhh I live at the beach in Hawaii I don't even watch TV very much and yeah I'm too cheap to spend $3 a day to watch 64 channels of what's mostly crap. By the time ya delete all the 24 hour shopping channels and all the bible-tumper channels and stupid junk like the fishing channel ..and since I am in Hawaii have to delete quite a few foreign language channels ..too, etc etc etc..heck you only end up with a handful of channels to begin with! Geeze there has to be a better way.

>Well ya I actually do read a few of them when I run across something interesting...but it don't replace cable tv..hahaha

I think if you go to www.comcast.net you can watch many programs free (even if you don't have an account with them). At least this is what they told me once.
"The creative process is nothing but a series of crises." Isaac Bashevis Singer
"My experience is that as soon as people are old enough to know better, they don't know anything at all." Oscar Wilde
"If a nation values anything more than freedom, it will lose its freedom; and the irony of it is that if it is comfort or money that it values more, it will lose that too." W.Somerset Maugham
