From what I have found out, the power companies are really pondering the effects of this.
A friend that works in with maintaining the reactors for most of the east coast of the US has told me that they will be powering down the reactors for the skip into 2000. This may not mean too much, but it takes a long time to restart these reactors due to gov regulations.
