>>>I'm not tremendously concerned. The systems I have worked on for the last decade have been financial and I've had to deal with 99-year leases and other things in which SET CENTURY ON was mandatory.
>>>
>>>I am concerned that some of the major US government agencies can't seem to get their act together, specifically Social Security, Labor, IRS, and DoD. OTOH, they may not be able to tax us, nor spend what we already gave 'em, nor start any wars so maybe this is not a bad thing :-)
>>
>>The good news is the Social Security people are ready for the year 2000. The bad news is the Department of the Treasury, who prints the checks, won't be.

>>I ran across this report card on the US Goverment back in June.

Government Y2K Report CardFrom what I have found out, the power companies are really pondering the effects of this.
A friend that works in with maintaining the reactors for most of the east coast of the US has told me that they will be powering down the reactors for the skip into 2000. This may not mean too much, but it takes a long time to restart these reactors due to gov regulations.
not panicing but cautious, Brad.
