I think you are reading too much into the text. "The sleep of a laboring man is sweet" does not say exactly anything detailed about the sleep pattern of this laboring man. In fact my personal experience is that the best sleep is interrupted at least once. That is often a time for meditation or prayer, and the quiet time of peace and knowing that you don't have to stand up yet!

To make the Bible teach something that it actually doesn't say is a common mistake, maybe with good intentions, but with bad results. I always say, I don't care what the Bible teaches, I want to know what the Bible says! Because you can make it teach anything you like, in order to fit your opinion, but what does God actually say?
