>>Bill, I am not going to get into another debate about guns with you, but which network is tilting? A homeowner defending his home against an intruder is not something I have a problem with. Good for Mr. Mauderly! But it is not national headline news, not unless a network chooses to make it so.

But Al, huge price markups on lobster rolls is big news ;-)

The first article I clicked on was the one from the Portland Press-Herald, which features a seaside place called the Lobster Shack. That sure brought back memories. I went to high school in Cape Elizabeth and have been there many times. It is a standard part of any trip to Maine to go there once. I don't think I have ever eaten lobster there, though. I always get fried clams. We always have one boiled lobster meal at home, with the lobster bought at a good price at a lobster pound. Or from one of my dad's breakfast buddies who was/is a lobsterman and would sell to him for dock price. I don't know whether my sister has kept that arrangement alive.

I am smiling remembering one time when I was robbed by a seagull at the Lobster Shack. It was really my own fault for making a classic tourist mistake. I set my fried clam "boat" (paper) down on our picnic table and went back to get napkins. One of the gulls who circle overhead constantly looking for food swooped down and carried the whole thing away, boat and all. We all laughed at that, including me. I had no choice but to go back and order them again.
