I ran Win8 just fine on my previous laptop. No pencil eraser. No multi-touch touch pad. No third party start button.
>The "tablet-like" behaviors of the Win8 UI could get annoying for users -- especially those who aren't accustomed to using current tablet computers or touchscreen smarphone where swipe gestures and push-and-hold gestures are common. When used with mouse the Win8 UI isn't bad once you get used to it. With a graphics tablet it might not be bad -- graphics tablet users are likely to already be used to using edge-swipe gestures to access menus and options. The new behaviors are likely to be quite annoying to folks using touchpad (like the one found on many laptop computers) -- especially if it's one that doesn't support multi-touch (i.e. it doesn't allow for multiple-finger gestures), and folks using force transducer pointer controller like the "mousekey" (aka "pencil eraser") are most likely to be annoyed due to gesture movements not being "natural" with such types of controls.
