Several applications that he uses daily he has problems opening in Windows 8. Say, it is not even simple to open Notepad. I don't know exactly his problems as I don't use his laptop and have Windows 7 on mine. He also has problems opening PDF files.

He is a scientist and mostly uses laptop to write articles.
