>>>We still run Foxpro 2.6 DOS applications and they ran well on computers purchased last April (2013) with Windows 7, 32 bit, optional XP mode.
>>>
>>>We just purchased more computers from the same vendor (Dell) with the "same" operating system. The XP mode is now replaced with Microsoft Virtual PC and we can not get it to run Foxpro 2.6.
>>>
>>>This could be a big issue for our company. Ideas other than re-write the applications would be appreciated.

>>Find DosBox and run under it. It's free and works on Linux as well.

>DosBox doesn't run well, crash FPD apps easly with it also it has a small window, I couldn't resize it.

I didn't try it much with FPD, just saw that it runs. You can manage memory in many ways, though - which should solve problems with file handles, various items in config.sys etc.

As for size, here's the relevant sections of the dosbox.conf file:
[dos]
# xms -- Enable XMS support.
# ems -- Enable EMS support.
# umb -- Enable UMB support (false,true,max).

xms=true
ems=true
umb=true

[render]
# frameskip -- How many frames dosbox skips before drawing one.
# aspect -- Do aspect correction, if your output method doesn't support scaling this can slow things down!.
# scaler -- Scaler used to enlarge/enhance low resolution modes.
#           Supported are none,normal2x,normal3x,advmame2x,advmame3x,advinterp2x,advinterp3x,tv2x,tv3x,rgb2x,rgb3x,scan2x,scan3x.

frameskip=0
aspect=true
scaler=normal3x
