Fair enough! One of my old habits in the early RV days was to create a parameterized view and then watch the generated SQL, because RVs generate injection-proof SQL for any backend so you can use that as a great skeleton for your passthrough. Particularly useful for Oracle and it's horrid dates... Then other tools came along.
