There are choices:

(1) To say, "I reject thee, Facebook! Away with you. Be gone from my favorites bar." :-)

(2) To go out and write a replacement that respects people's privacy. Facebook made billions off their site. Do something similar that is designed from the beginning to be a service unto people, not a tool for making money, and I guarantee you it will succeed.

A PhD level developer could design a replacement Facebook system. If you target service unto people from the beginning, Tamar, I would sign up.
