Looks like I wasn't clear enough on my response about this.

In my mind, the reply I was commenting on was saying you can use HTML to create platform specific UI. But you can't. Apps are the big thing right now, not web pages. And apps are styled differently on different platforms. At least that's what I thought. If you're styling for a native app, which is what you want on a phone, you can't do one-size fits all. If you want a web app, then yes, HTML/CSS/JS are the way to go, but they then you don't have a Java application, do you.
