>>Just to put this in perspective - I'm sure in 1992-1993, sales of MS Access exceeded those of FoxPro 2.0 and 2.5. But we both know which tool was better :)

One of the big hits against Android used to be poor app monetization compared to iOS. Which is why the familiar sales pattern for Google Play is being watched so closely.

Unless you've bought into the "browser is best" MS thinking, you're going to write your cool native apps for Apple if you want to charge higher prices, Android if you think the virtual "stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap" plus advertizing is your best bet, Android if you hope to convince T-Mobile to offer your app, WP if you're a MS fanboi... and so it goes on. "Which is best" matters less than which maximizes the chances of earning a crust, because the days of developers recommending hardware/OS to use their amazing system, are way behind us.

Have you looked at Lianja? Ignoring the VFP angle, somebody is going to produce a simple 4GL that delivers HTML/CSS in a native shell for any platform. Market is RIPE for it. Seems a shame that some ex-VFPers who probably could do it still can't see the wood for the trees and are wasting their time trying to write mobile apps using NET, but such is life.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
