I've used Java applications (first introduced in 1989 in this instance) until well into the 2000 to support this. This is just one example from that application, that thankfully I don't use any more. It must be because it's hard to do. Because if it was easy, it would have been in the application earlier.

WTH? There was no Java 1989, not even Oak existed back then.
