I have a older XP app that is running in Windows 7 that I need to make some changes to. The XP app was storing the path settings to the data in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, which I realize is not allowed in Windows 7, so I am working on changing that setting.

However, I thought that Windows 7 would run the XP app as a legacy XP app, and store the path settings in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Virtual Store/Machine/Wow 6432Node/myappname folder. However, the app name is there, but nothing else.

Anyone know where Windows 7 is stuffing this app specific information such as path that was being sent to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE?
