Jesus taught us that peace is the way. There is no cause for violence except for those who are perishing. Ever since Jesus came, died, rose again, and sent us His Holy Spirit at Pentecost, our battles in this world are no longer physical. We are now fighting a spiritual enemy, Satan. He is the one behind all sides of this in-the-flesh conflict. He is enticing men to sin in every way.
The way out is faith in Jesus Christ, and prayer that God's will be done upon this Earth. Only Jesus can defeat those spiritual enemies at work. And the locked arm brigade of brothers and sisters in Christ praying against those evil spirits acting in men will be a force to be reckoned with. The Bible says that such battle in Christ is mighty and powerful, to the tearing down even of evil strongholds.
What we need in this world is faith in Jesus Christ, holiness, spiritual armor, and prayer.
Only then will we be fighting the enemy as God asks us to. Until then, all sides who engage in physical conflict are serving only one side: Satan, the enemy of God. In order to serve God, we must serve as He served, to answer the call as He calls, and that means obedience to His will, the spiritual call of peace, of love, of pursuing God's Spirit and not the flesh knowing that even if we die in service to the Lord, yet will we live.
The Lord's ways are the only ways leading to life. I implore each of you to examine your life and your relationship with Jesus. He is the one who can lead you to eternity. There is not another anywhere. Not you. Not your friends. Not any other person. Only Jesus.
He asks us to follow Him because He has the path to salvation, to eternal life. There are no other reasons He asks us to follow Him. He asks us because He loves us and wants to be with us in that way. It is an offering of love from Jesus to all men who will come to Him.
