Jay Cutler is the QB for the Chicago Bears.

He has tremendous raw talent and a powerful arm. Early in his career, he tended to suffer very bad lapses in judgment as a QB, and his footwork was terrible.

Over time, he's gotten better. But he's also extremely injury-prone. Injury-prone players, even very good players, often wind up harming their team as much as they do helping them, because it leads to overall team inconsistency.

There have been other things - things that one would argue shouldn't matter - but he tends to be very aloof. Some position players can get away with a certain amount of that, but the QB is the leader of the offense, and some argue that Cutler doesn't have the personality to be a championship QB. Some in the media are very much against Cutler and tend to blow up stories about him to make him look bad.

Personally, I think Cutler has improved greatly. But I don't think the Bears can win a Super Bowl with Cutler at QB.
