I have this message which appears on occasional basis:
"A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The specified network name is no longer available.)"
The first two times we got it, it was in the middle of the night when a backup was in process eating up pretty much all the resources. For about a few minutes, this error came several times when we tried to access the Web site. On both occasions, it last for about 5 to 10 minutes. It is only during that timeframe that the error occured.
So, we were said this was probably because of the backup procedure and something they have to enhance in that direction.
Then, the error continued to happen but only on one specific transaction. It is only when administrative persons access a specific list to detect the state of the network and that fails on a very simple SQL. So, all the upcoming errors after that were isolated, occuring on individual basis, from time to time. So, I am wondering why such a simple SQL would cause this error. And, BTW, when I had it last night, it was on a brand new network on a brand new facility on a brand new equipment. So, it is not the equipment but maybe a bad setting they would have applied on both locations. So, I thought maybe I have corrupted data that SQL command is trying to pull out. Can it be? Or, can this be related to a setting?
