I had suggested to their network guy that we could implement our own server (didn't know Windows had one so I had suggested softstack or kerio) but he seemed reluctant to and I know nothing about this stuff. It would be nice to track the outgoing emails, but not necessary. I could also keep track of them in my database if need be.
