I am using the _screen.formcount property and I did try putting the code in the splash.gotfocus event. Didn't work. However, when I put the code in the splash.activate event it works like a charm (gotfocus seems like a much more logical place to put it). The splash screen has 1 object on it that is disabled. Apparently the gotfocus event for the form does not fire unless there are enabled objects on it. Sure wish I could remember all this. Thanks for the help.
