Whoa, the only thing uglier than the Astros' uniforms was the Astrodome. It is in the ugly stadium hall of fame. While on a business trip to Houston I went to a game with a coworker who was posted in Houston. Nolan Ryan pitching, no less. God, what an ugly soulless place.

One day on a relief trip to Houston after Katrina I was sent in a group to the Astrodome. Our job was to sort and direct relief items from around the country. (My favorite: a dollar bill from a 5 year old girl from her allowance). By then it was closed, a service to the public. We came be a crappy species sometimes but when times are tough we come through. It was the best week of my life. The best moment was reuniting a black guy from New Orleans with his daughter who he thought was dead. That was not my doing, it was a computer savant from San Diego who found them and reunited them. When the levee broke the mom took with their daughter to stay with her relatives in Tennessee.
