Hi All,

I have a program that takes data out of dbf files and puts it into excel. Along the way it groups and sorts etc. but nothing that would kill a processor, I have also modified any selects to ensure that they only extract the necessary fields and also ensures that seek is used on any lookups if necessary.
The report creates 15 tabs in an excel sheet and populates each one, all except 1 are less than 800 rows and many are shorter. It has been running on a customers server for about an hour now and is dreadfully slow. On my laptop with the same data set it completed in about 5 minutes. I have excel 2007 the server has excel 2013, my laptop is 6 years old with Vista and the server is 6 months old and really good spec.
It leads me to believe that it is OLE in excel that is slower but I'm having trouble finding anything online, has anyone any ideas or something they can point me to.
