They were not Jewish. Rural southern Illinois Catholics.

She wanted us to marry in a Catholic wedding. it was even more important to her mother. We were married at the Catholic chapel at Northwestern, Sheil Chapel (Ironic considering it is a Methodist university). Father Krump was a good man, a scholar, one of the ones who disproves the notion that Catholic priests are all molesters. We had the best wedding ceremony ever.
